Gelu Paul

Real name: 
Gelu Paul grew up most of his life in communist Romania. In 1981 Gelu moved to Timisoara for college education and joined a small group of evangelical Christian students trained by Campus Crusade for Christ to share Christ on the college campus. By 1989, the underground college student ministry reached 60 small groups and several hundred disciples. In 1995 Gelu earned his M. Div at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and in 2013 he completed his PhD in educational sciences at Trinity International University. He is currently serving as the coordinating pastor of “VOX Domini,” a multi-site Baptist church in Timisoara. Gelu also serves as the strategic coordinator and president of BIG Impact, a movement of local churches with global Impact, and as president and founder of Estera Foundation, a counseling center for women with unplanned pregnancies and their families. His involvement in non-traditional theological education, dynamic church planting, and the social services helps him evangelize, mature disciples, and launch leaders in the ministry. He is married to Lidija and has two kids: Ioana (16) and Johnny (13).
