Hundreds of thousands of Muslim migrants come to Europe, asking for asylum. Huge numbers of weary, exhausted people cross the European borders every day, leaving behind not only their homelands but their documents, too, which would prove their identity. Europeans are divided as to what a proper response should be to this political crisis. Liberals and Conservatives debate whether compassion or restoring law and order has priority over the other. Is this simply a humanitarian issue that requires immediate aid? Or do we need to fear the expansion of Islam, the clash of cultures, and the end of Europe as we knew it?

In this workshop we will consider the biblical teaching on the role of government and the role of the Christian citizen, the twofold necessity of compassion and cultural criticism, the difference between multiculturalism and love, and other related issues. Our aim is not to answer all the questions one can think of, but to fascilitate healthy Christian dialogue in order to have more clarity about our responsibilities as followers of Christ. We are interested in the social, political, and cultural dimensions of the problem, but our analysis will be more pastoral-theological than political.

This webinar will be highly interactive taught by a panel of speakers led by Dávid Hamar and Ádám Szabados.
