Resources for Christian Counsellors

Learn more about CCEF

The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) was one of many organisations present at this year's European Leadership Forum. CCEF's mission is to restore Christ to counselling, and counselling to the church by thinking biblically about the issues of living through a synergy of teaching, counseling, writing, mentoring, conference speaking, and consulting.

CCEF faculty member reflects on ELF experience

"My time at the European Leadership Forum in May was amazing. During the week of the conference, our days began with a devotional study on Philippians led by John Piper as well as corporate worship. The singing moved me to tears because it foreshadowed heaven where we will worship with every tribe, nation, and tongue. I want to see this door of partnership between ELF and CCEF open wide as we look to the future. I'm so grateful for my experience in Poland." - Cecelia Bernhardt, CCEF Faculty, Counselor, and Director of Counseling Ministries.

There are two kinds of love that are part of every Christian's calling. We are all called to practical giving through mercy ministries that extend tangible help to people in need, but we are all called to wisdom-giving through constructive personal conversations. Everyone needs relevant, encouraging, life-rearranging truth that connects the dots from Christ to our daily lives. In other words, good deeds and good words are both part of walking in the Lord.

So in this sense every believer is called to counsel -- to offer wise and compassionate words of hope to those who are struggling. In Counseling Is Theological,  Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) faculty member Edward T. Welch explores how we should look for patterns and themes in Scripture in order to connect those to human need.

 CCEF online training opportunities

Over 30% of our online students represent over 40 countries

"We live in a day and age where information comes at us in waves, oftentimes faster than we can comprehend it. The classroom (face to face and even digital) gives you time to slow down, think deeply about weighty matters, talk about the material with friends and family, and be changed in such a way that the course never leaves you, always leaving its imprint on your work and relationships." - Ed Welch, CCEF faculty

"I began the CCEF training thinking I would learn how to help others. But in an unexpected twist, I instead learned to see myself more accurately and how big my need for grace truly is. I knew I would grow, but I hadn't anticipated the extent I personally would be changed. I also had not anticipated how much more I would, and could, fall in love with Jesus." - Vicki Diemert, CCEF student
