Trauma Informed Care for Survivors

As servants in churches or our communities, we see a lot of brokenness - brokenness that happens in relationships with other human beings. Healing, however, is also inter-relational, and the tools God often uses to bring it about are people, like you and me. The Trauma Informed Care curriculum was designed for people who interact with trauma survivors but who do not necessarily have specific training in the field. This presentation focuses on equipping people with basic knowledge of trauma mechanisms, whether emotional, sexual, or physical abuse, war, natural disaster, etc. and their effects in order to prevent revictimization of trauma survivors as well as the necessary mechanisms to prevent vicarious trauma and burnout.​
