The History of Biblical Authority

How the Bible has been viewed has shaped both church history and history in general. Dirk Jongkind, Research Fellow at Tyndale House, Cambridge, conducts an extended interview of Dr. John Woodbridge, Research Professor at Trinity Evanelical Divinity School, who has spent a good portion of his career studying the history of biblical authority. They examine the roots of the modern higher critical method of the Bible and discuss various challenges to the Bible’s authority as well as the contrast between Catholic and Evangelical views of Scripture and the significance of “sola scriptura".
