Description

Here, Leonardo De Chirico answers questions related to his talk "Roman Catholicism as a Temptation for Evangelical Leaders," given at the 2022 European Leadership Forum.

Tens of millions of Roman Catholics around the world are becoming Evangelical. At the same time, a small trickle of Evangelical leaders is becoming Catholic. Why? What is attracting them? What reasons are they giving for their departure from the Evangelical faith? This interview will seek to understand this trend and evaluate the arguments for why some convert to Roman Catholicism.

Leonardo De Chirico is the pastor of Breccia di Roma, a church that he helped plant in Rome in 2009, and Vice Chairman of the Italian Evangelical Alliance. He earned degrees in history (University of Bologna), theology (ETCW, Bridgend, Wales) and bioethics (University of Padova). His PhD from King's College (London) was published as Evangelical Theological Perspectives on Post-Vatican II Roman Catholicism.

John Stevens is the National Director of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, a family of over 500 Bible-centred churches in the UK, a position that he has held since 2010.
