The West is a mission field. Evangelism, church planting, church revitalisation, and training in preaching are rightly priorities for many. But people in the West have faced numerous crises – pandemic, war, energy shortages, refugees, economic recession – that reveal profound and widespread material and emotional needs. Pastoral care is an urgent need, but it may seem to be a distraction from mission.
