How to Deal With a Thorn in the Flesh: A Strength that Goes Beyond Resilience
Description
The Apostle Paul wrote ‘When I am weak, then I am strong’. This statement is one of the great paradoxes of our Christian life. A weakness is, humanly speaking, an obstacle and a limitation, but God´s view of our weakness is completely different from our own. The reason is that God´s power is made perfect and complete, not so much in spite of our weaknesses, but through them. Understanding this reality has become a source of encouragement to all those suffering from weaknesses. This Master Class explores how God transforms our limitations into sources of strength, offering hope and encouragement for anyone walking through trials.
This is part 3 in a 5 part series on 'How to Deal With a Thorn in the Flesh: Finding Strength and Hope Amidst Suffering'.
3. Acceptance: A Strength that Goes Beyond Resilience
To accept does not mean to put up a shield: the Buddhist version of patience. To accept does not mean agreement with the thorn: the masochistic version. To accept means contentment, which is much more than resilience. Contentment is a long course, not a quick lesson.
