The Reformation's Influence on Politics

The theological ideas that came out of the Reformation had a dramatic impact on politics. This talk explains some of the most notable effects, including a pushback on the old sacred/secular dichotomy, an emphasis on literacy and education, and the dignity of work. Many of the political concepts that we take for granted today, such as democracy, freedom of religion, and universal human rights, would never have emerged without the foundation of Reformation theology.
