The Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture

What are the reasons for believing the Bible to be the Word of God? What does it mean when we recognise that the Bible is also a human book? What kind of authority should the Bible have in our lives? What is meant by the “inerrancy” of the Bible, and how can we answer current challenges to inerrancy? This session also examines several specific “problem texts” that have sometimes been claimed as examples of errors in Scripture, and suggest approaches to dealing with such texts.
