The Bible and Homosexual Practice

One of the greatest challenges to the authority of scripture in today’s church is over the practice of homosexuality. We need great sensitivity in a discussion of this issue and an awareness of modern thought on the matter. Furthermore, the subject needs to be discussed in the context of the whole biblical teaching on sexual relationships. Then we may turn to the specific texts which deal with this subject and see them in the context of the outworking of biblical theology. The traditional understanding, that the practice of homosexuality is condemned in scripture is to be affirmed, together with thought about how this is to be appropriately expressed.
