Bible Reading for Scholars

Titus and Timothy had teaching functions within the church, and the role modern theologians fulfill in the church overlaps with the role they had. In this lecture, we will use technical scholarship and close reading of the Greek to bring out the transforming message of Titus and 2 Timothy for the teachers of the church, and how one of the main concerns of Paul is that the church learns to think in a sound way. The goal of this talk is to demonstrate how close Biblical theology, Greek studies, and devotional reading can be.
