Transformed Lives in Bold Bible Read-Throughs

A practical question must follow Jesus' call for his disciples to "abide in my word": how can that calling be applied in ministries today? In this session the speaker presents bold Bible reading— reading the Bible through in as few as six to sixteen weeks—as a means to nurture the sort of spiritual fruit Jesus invites and expects (John 15). The speaker approaches the Bible as a relational resource, meant to bring about "faith working through love" in readers. By exposing volunteer readers to the narrative of God's love, jealousy, delights, and distastes, in a more concentrated and natural manner, the Bible comes to life more than ever before. The benefits of mentoring young believers by partnership read-throughs is considered as well.
