John Piper

John Piper is founder and teacher of desiringGod.org and chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Wheaton College for his undergraduate studies in literature and philosophy and completed a Master of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary. He did his doctoral work in New Testament studies at the University of Munich. Upon completion of his doctorate, he taught biblical studies at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota for six years. In 1980, he became the Senior Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, where he ministered for 33 years, until 2013. He is the author of over 50 books and now frequently travels to speak, and writes regularly through the Desiring God website. John and his wife, Noël, have four sons, one daughter, and twelve grandchildren.
