Sexual addiction interferes with normal living; sex addicts may prioritize sex over family, friends, school or work.  The recognition and treatment of sexual addiction is crucial. This presentation will describe the connections between unmet needs and woundedness in people’s core longings and the resulting vulnerability to sexual addiction. Therapists and pastors need to understand sexual addiction, be willing to hear people’s pain, and help people deal with their underlying woundedness while teaching them how to integrate healthy sexual behavior into their lives.

This webinar will describe the development of chronic psychological dependencies, the main characteristics of sexual addiction, and introduce the concept of dependency as pain relief and a form of escape from helplessness. In it's conclusion, this webinar will give practical advice about treatment of sexual addiction based on both clinical and biblical foundations.
