Evangelism as Discipleship

Europe could now be described as ‘post-Christian’.  The Judeo-Christian worldview which dominated for so long is largely gone.  Many of the people we share the gospel with know nothing of the Bible's content. Given the permissiveness of culture and the distorted nature of our ethical system, we need to assume nothing and focus on the challenge of a whole lifestyle and worldview change. That involves discipling people, rather than just wanting them to make a momentary decision to follow Christ. Our evangelism should focus on discipleship and be infused by it, rather than seeing discipleship as something that fits in after conversion.
