Unplugging from Technology to Reconnect with Christ

Technology has enhanced our lives wonderfully but can become a barrier to connection with Christ. This has never been truer than since the advent of smartphones. We can retreat into our phones from our immediate surroundings and companions. This virtual ‘home’ promises safety and belonging but can increase anxiety and isolation and Christ is often left outside. This talk considers the risks of smartphone and social media usage and how we might set healthy limits so that we do not become their slaves. We explore practical ideas for reconnecting with Christ directly and through creation and community.
