Eric Johnson

Eric L. Johnson is Senior Research Professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and has been teaching Christian and biblical counselling there for 17 years. Before that he taught psychology and Christian worldview at Northwestern College in Minnesota for 10 years. He edited Psychology and Christianity: Five Views and was a co-editor of Evidence-Based Christian Counseling and Psychotherapy. He has written over 50 articles in psychology and theology, as well as, Foundations for Soul Care: A Christian Psychology Proposal and God and Soul Care: The Therapeutic Resources of the Christian Faith. Until recently he was the director of the Society for Christian Psychology, and he serves on the board of the Institute for Christian Psychology. Eric and his wife, Rebekah, have two grown children and two grandsons. He and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, and biking, and they are members at Sojourn Community Church, where he does pastoral care part-time.
